Hazel A Empregada Maluca foi uma série norte-americana que foi baseada num desenho animado e apresentado originalmente pela rede de televisão NBC, nos Estados Unidos, de 28 de setembro de 1961 a julho de 1961. Depois ela passou a ser apresentada pela rede CBS de 13 de setembro de 1965 até 5 de julho de 1966. Ao todo a série teve 154 episódios, sendo 34 em preto e branco e o restante 120, a cores.

A história do seriado girava em torno de Hazel Burke (Shirley Booth), uma empregada doméstica que trabalhava na casa da família do advogado George Baxter (Don DeFore), de sua esposa Dorothy (Whitney Blake) e seu filho Harold (Bobby Buntrock), além do inseparável cachorro. 

George Baxter era um chefe de família, sempre no controle de tudo e quase nunca descansava, até que encontrou Hazel Burke que transformou a residência dos Baxters em um lugar bem mais organizado. Também faziam parte do elenco os vizinhos Herbert e Harriet, além da família Johnson.

Na quinta e última temporada ocorreram várias mudanças. Hazel Burke passou a trabalhar na casa do irmão George Baxter, pois a antiga família para quem trabalhava, mudou-se para o Oriente Médio, por causa da transferência no emprego de George para lá. No Brasil esta série foi apresentado pela TV Record e depois em 1976 passou a ser apresentada quando a emissora TVS iniciou suas transmissões.

Como ainda não tinha uma grade de programação formada, a emissora exibia séries "enlatadas" ao longo do dia, até que pudesse entrar com uma grade completa do canal de Silvio Santos. Nessa época, Hazel, a empregada maluca, passou a ser um dos carros-chefes da emissora e ia ao ar no horário das 18 horas até as 19:30 horas, em quatro sessões do seriado.
